Years ago Winchester set out to create a new 22 caliber rifle. They wanted a quick handling, easy-to-use design with traditional craftsmanship and a large dose of 19th century nostalgia. The rest is history. This example is in Excellent Condition.
The Model 9422 is made by U.S. Repeating Arms Company in New Haven, Connecticut in one of the world’s most modern firearms factories. The most current computer design and machining equipment was used. It is the the product of the world’s most highly trained, highly skilled firearms craftsmen and women. Today’s Model 9422 has a level of quality and precision that was not possible years ago.
The tubular under-barrel magazine holds 15 Long Rifles or 21 Shorts—and 17 Longs if you can still find any. The 9422 features a nice short lever throw. If speed shooting is your thing, you can crank ‘em out just as fast as you can reacquire the target.
This rifle may have a few microscopic usage marks, but otherwise is in Excellent COndition and has a buttery-smooth action. The front sight was removed long ago, and its location remains a mystery.
